You'll find many opinions on break in procedures..... heat cycles, rpm/hour ranges, breakin oil, etc. I say add extra oil to the gas, let it warm up, then run it like like you normally would in everyday use but no WOT for more 10 seconds.

Nylon spacers work ok, most decent hardware stores carry an assortment. Let the ski warm up fully before riding too.

I don't think what you saw was padding, unless it was firsthand, HT makes a smooth sheet of turf that might look like the thin padding. Under padding with tear, gouge if let exposed IME.

FP stock is one.. but there's a spot for the 2nd. Some reseller's might already tap for two inlets.
