When the ski pivots up to the bunks on the bed cover does it put any stress on the hull?

Now would be a good time to look for a donor 701 instead of trying to frankenstein an engine. If your 6M6 is in good shape you can always list it for sale and make a couple hundo on it, and part out the pieces of a donor ski that you don't need.

Wake that engine up a bit. It's cheap parts season...get a pipe and a new prop in there before spring comes.

I would have fiddled with trying to remove the starter for 30 minutes while it was still in the ski, get pissed. Go inside and get a beer and then come back out and remove the entire engine.

96-08 is very similar to a SN on the count of the bottom decks are the same. 09 and up are very different. You chopped yours so it'll ride looser than a stock length RN. But all fun...I miss my SN something fierce. GLWB!!!! :-)
