Hmm interesting. Skis we have them on still look perfect after one riding season. Actually I saw black synthetic suede pads on an old race xir hull yesterday and I thought they still looked really good. Even the front splash guard was really black.

Wow I wasn't expecting that to flip. I'd imagine you'd have to count your lbs pretty carefully and have a well modded engine. I say go for it. Worst case you could sell the engine to someone who doesn't care if their SJ flips. It would be a good race set up.
