Shipped Motor Damage - What to do?

I'll premise this by saying I REALLY tried for it to not come to this. The seller had a quick and smooth transaction. Unfortunately due diligence on the shipping side of it was not made. I bought a couch motor (62T/62T) in great shape from a Facebook group member of which the seller is a...

1990 Square Nose taking on water

Leaky midshaft is my guess. My 650 midshaft delaminated and leaks like a sieve. Going to get a used one this winter and just run the bildge often now. Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk

    Avoiding sinking ski

That's my fear I suppose. That or hit a half floating tree in a river or lake. If you cut carefully and lay in some realigning tabs before closing it up, it should be as easy as patching a shell back over the tray. Freaks do have 2 stringers under the tray that might present a challenge but I'm...

    Avoiding sinking ski

My freaks have all been EPS or EPP'd cause it only takes a small impact to crack and sink you $15k+ boat, why risk it for 2-3 pounds of foam savings? Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk

Custom/Hybrid Hull extension/ride plate for Superfreaks

Sorry to derail the post. Tem made a handful, only two I'm aware, adjustable hulls. It was up to the builder to make the ride plates. My Circus has it too. Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk

    Avoiding sinking ski

Be cautious with this. EPP and EPE are very different materials. EPE can absorb water over time, EPP on the other hand will not. You'd be pressed to tell the difference between the two just by looking at them. Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk

    Avoiding sinking ski

I picked up 4 sheets of 1.9# 1.5" black EPP from FlyingFoam which does RC airplane wings when I filled my Superjet with EPP. Definitely had left over and probably could have gotten the same result from 2-3 sheets. Sheets run about $20 a pop plus $15 flat shipping. Hit up Coby at FlyingFoam at...

    Avoiding sinking ski

Cut the tray open and lay in EPS or EPP to the bond line, reglass tray, drill hole and fill with marine grade expanding PU above bond line. Ride. EPP is more expensive but easier to install because it's compressible and flexible. Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk

    Payment/Financing

Be careful sinking so much money via credit into a toy that doesn't have insurance. It's different for a car because you won't lose so big if you got wrecked. You sink, get stolen, or total your ski you're going to still be paying for it out of pocket. Sent from my RS988 using Tapatalk

    Bond rail glue

Any good 2 part Epoxy, and 1/2" shard glass, thicken with cabosil. Prep the surfaces with 36 grit sandpaper, you want every inch scuffed HARD. Clean with acetone to remove oils before bonding. Clean before sanding with acetone to prevent pushing oils into the grain when sanding. Good luck...
