I voted ignition but go TL you need the extra timing when you get PFP, i agree with most Epic is a gambel i hade issues with the gen 1. I recal they hade test peopel for the hx3 only thing 1/3 reported back, i have ran 2 flame system with out issues

Is it possibel that the carbs go out off tune real fast ? Maybe count and note the screw setting and see if it changes.

That was plan A was hoping some one hade a better idear.
