Usually it comes in through the vent, but if your water separator is not full that is probably not it. How is your gas cap, is the o-ring good? Do you hear a whoosh when opening the cap?

Where is the end of your vent tube, is it in the pole?

Found another small issue. When using the lightbox to show the attachments, the forward and back buttons are missing their image. You can still click where the buttons would be though.

It may be worth trying some hex socket head bolts also, so you can get it tighter. Mine already had those though.

I tried sanding it on glass to get it flat. That did not work, so I got a used back cover from @JetManiac.
