Eight months ago we were in your same spot. In the end we went with the Competition model to save weight. The new Textreme carbon is very cool looking, but it's big bucks. Talk to Taylor at TC Freeride he can give you the pros and cons of all your options.
There are two different issues with floating a Rickter IMO. 1) Some exhaust systems are flat and low in the hull. It can even be below the water line, so water could run all the way to the manifold and slosh in the cylinders. 2) If you have a scupper or even a ball valve drain I personally...
Be careful sitting in the water for awhile. I'm not sure about an Edge, but on a XFS depending on the type of exhaust you have, water can migrate around and enter the cylinders.
Good looking ski. I have the clear bra stuff on the front of my truck. It works great and I have zero rock chips after 75,000 miles. The problem might be with the parts of the ski that has compound curves, the film on my truck wouldn't conform to a compound curve. On the flatter areas and...
I haven't seen a Thrust ball valve uninstalled, but you only have about an inch and a half until it would hit the exhaust tube inside the hull. Isn't it longer than that?
In Missouri they only do one and they want to pick the spot. I'm just trying to steer them to a location that looks good. One guy told me they don't like the back of the ski because it's under water while sitting still. I go in tomorrow, we'll see how it goes.
In talking to the Missouri Water Patrol today they are really picky about where to attach the HIN # plate. They want to put it on the frame of the ski !! Well great, it's a PWC it has no frame. They then said "somewhere on the ski, visible and attached to a permanent surface". They want to...
I hope to be doing this next week, our ski is in route to us as I type this. I was planning on riveting it to the hull (required in my state) above the exhaust and using 5200 to seal it.
Sorry to hear your having issues. I'm waiting for delivery of my new Rickter any week now, so sure don't like to hear about issues. Personally I'd like to know a lot more specific information about the issues your having.
What specific 2015 XFS model you have? Competition / Carbon? Carbon...
Just need an O ring. Not sure if mine fell out and I didn't see it while I was taking the pump out or if it was destroyed. It's probably been in there a few years.
Not to hijack the thread, but I need a O ring for my Skat prop also (SXR). Is it a different O ring from the stock one? The stock one doesn't show up on the on-line parts breakdowns, what part # is it?
Can I just get on from an auto parts store?
I'm not sure why I don't see that fitting listed on the parts list for newer SXR's. I looked up a 1997 750 SXI and it has what looks like the same fitting. It's expensive, but might be worth a try...
No problem, glad to help, I know what your going through. I ride in fresh water so I rarely flush my skis. Look at the photo you posted, on the water line that comes out of the head and loops over to the top of the exhaust. That 45* fitting in the head isn't stock. The stock fitting is a...
