Hey All,
I'm about to start the build of my new Rickter XFS G2. My first step is to build a bottom protector plate thingy. Ya know, a fiberglass plate that i turf and bring with me everywhere that goes between the ski and my stand or trailer bunks to keep the bottom in perfect condition. To...
How far did it discharge? You may have destroyed the battery. Start unplugging stuff until it doesn’t spark as big. Definitely measure the draw and unplug stuff until it goes down. Bilge pump? Those are usually suspect. Could be cut/grounded wire in stator. Could be cut/grounded wire to start...
Is it possible you had the lanyard hooked on all winter? I think the zeel stays powered if the lanyard is hooked up and that would certainly shorten that regulators life.
Enhancer advanced 3.5 degrees probably gave u 28ish degrees advance starting at 1k rpm or so. Probably more than You have now below 3k if you are running the off the shelf wax curve. Just sayin’
I agree. I ran a 7/14 with a 781 and stock 155 in a havoc. It was perfect. Something is off. A loose pump (your previous setup) could mask tuning issues.
Ya it really is. It’s gotta be in the +5v voltage regulation circuit. I’d imagine the CDI circuit is independent and the IC that is the “brain” of the unit can be powered by the programmer or a 5v circuit powered by the battery and that’s why it works when plugged into The programmer.
Sorta related interesting read. Would be interesting to build my own CDI circuit and drive it with speeduino/etc

That’s a pretty general statement. There’s lots of automotive ignitions that could work, sure. My concept could work with sny automotive ECU also but speeduino is simply a cheap one to test the concept with.
I don’t think wasted spark is causing any loss
The coils I’m talking about using aren’t standard automotive coils. They are “smart” coils. This means the driver is built into the coil. Essentially, the circuit that does the capacitive discharge is in the coil body, not the ignition control...
Hey All,
I've become mildly obsessed with ignition control recently... I've always hated MSD TL as its antiquated and unreliable. Zeel is fantastic and I've used it on all my setups so far. Every back-to-back test so far has shown almost no performance difference but recent testing on my TPE...
