I think the ovp scuppers have a bigger ball/opening then the versiplug.

I never had to silicone the ovp scupper and haven't had issues with exhaust flowing through the tube.

I have had two Rickter flaps fall off of two different skis unexpectedly. I almost lost a ski one of the times.

I don't have any pictures but I use this one: http://overallbyfredo.com/products/ovpart-clapet.html I have it in both my Rickters. Works great and doesn't require any modication. I have never used any other ball scuppers but this one seels up 100%. I would never use the flap again.
