I cut off the bottom of the original stem and had it press fit onto stainless tube that is the right size for a bike stem. I'm thinking i'll weld it at the joint and see how it does this summer
i have not cc'd a head but the few 760 engines i've assembled had way too much squish clearance with ADA heads, it made me wonder if the heads got shallower from 61/62 to 64.
in short, it will leak. the very few skis i've torn into i've seen leaks from every place you'd expect and more. if you mount the yamaha drains then you have the option of either running the drain plug or a versa plug.
it is a 08+ pole so I need to relocate the cable mount anyway, I figured the extra 20mm or whatever for the low setup would not be a problem while I'm at it. Now I'm considering running the higher setup to get the bars up higher and fit the pad correctly.
