Humm...I would not mind a short piece to stick up inside the airbox to keep any water splashes out of the carb or maybe slow down the water so there is just a tiny bit getting into the carb.

drill out the tamper caps and check the needles. Also, try lowering the pop off pressure a little bit. I had a similar issue and it was lacking fuel due to very high pop off pressure and the needles were a touch to lean.

Yup they get more and more sticky over time which is good. At some point they get really nasty looking and need to get changed. As long as they are still sticky just keep on riding. I just changed a set out and now the new ones are slightly slippery. I can't wait till they get all goey and...

You can't surf the break out mid way down Glass Breakwater anymore? What about diving Western Shoals or GabGab? That's crazy.

I really can not imagine jetskiing there ever. How is the Piti break now? I heard it got messed up. We used to paddle out there but not sure you can anymore. What about Glass Breaker can you go out there anymore?
