Thanks! It’s great how light these things are, probably one of the only watercraft besides a stand-up that I would be comfortable towing.

Towed her out to the lake. Sorted out some carb tuning issues and had an absolute blast. Jettribe cover came in so I can store it properly in the winter. Very impressed with the fit and quality of that cover.

Well, the new graphics were printed today! I am very happy with them. Just enough color, plenty of white space left. The shop cut them out just like I wanted, no empty white space left on the graphics at all.

Resealed the case halves tonight. New crank seals and new sealant. Bearings looked/felt good. Used the RSKI Riders video for a lot of the tips and tricks. The inside of the flywheel area was FILTHY, so it definitely needed it. Found that the bendix was missing a spring and a few washers...

Blaster DIY - gas spring hood lift kit

I know this thread has been dead for 2-4 years, but no one ever posted the measurements, so here are the measurements I used and their results: I drilled the hood seal rail for 3/16” rivets placing the ball center 17” from the mounting face for the hood latch: I think it looks about right...

OH I forgot. I also did the single strut hood lift suggested by Desk_jockey in another member’s thread. Strut: Link to Ebay Brackets: Link to ebay I used the lower hood prop boss for the hood bracket and drilled the hood seal rail for 3/16” rivets placing the ball 17” from the mounting face...

Thank you and you're welcome. I hope it works, but if it doesn't.... to channel Edison: I haven't failed, I've found one more way that gel coat won't stick to SMC.

It will take time to get a review of my methods effectiveness for the gel coat adhering on the SMC parts, but I will be sure to report back... I expect it might take a while to show any issues if it isn't quite right. I'm not a chemist so I may be way off base... I had HARD time finding advice...

A bit of progress on the exterior parts. I learned a hard lesson wrapping the seat. I centered the new cover all up and started from the front and worked my way back…. It stretched more than I anticipated, so the curve in the back ended up with too much material. Cant get it properly tight...

Made good progress tonight putting a lot of the hull parts back on. Fittings, seat hardware, handles, hood hardware, etc. I used a bit of 3M 4200FC on all of them… may be a pain if I disassemble again at some point, but I really wanted things to stay tight until then. I also put my new pump...

Good news. I was nervous that I made a mistake ordering slate grey mats instead of black. I worried for nothing. I love it.

Also worth noting that the M67 wasn’t my first choice necessarily. I just had it on hand from other projects… figured it would work and I could save the $50 and a trip to the store.

I have a 5” DA, but I adjusted my pressure on the finicky bits to keep the foam moving and the heat up. Not perfect but it seems to have worked. It’s a strong gloss, and the medium cutting foam pad seems to have done a good job clearing after the 1500 grit. Pretty aggressive. I had a few deeper...
