Glad to hear they fit.. I will look for an aftermarked waterbox for my RN and throw my OEM RN waterbox in my SN and get rid of that junk fiberglass box that I now have a hole in from a backfire. Any suggestions on a moderately quite waterbox that increases the HP?
Anyone have suggestions for running three pissers / water outlets? Pro's and con's of 3 outlets vs 2? I have been running my cooling lines they same way as they were when I got my ski. Previous owner ran the lines this way... Looks like a different set up than everyone else is runninng, any...
Hey guys, anyone know a trick on how to get the starter out on a bone stock square nose? A buddy of mine told me to rotate it, in order to make it clear the big bulky OEM exhaust manifold/chamber. I just don't see enought room in there for the stater to come out... Do I have to remove the OEM...
LUCKED out!!! The timeserts I ordered have the external threads of the 62t with the internal threads of the 61x! The 760 (62t Cylinder) exhaust manifold bolt holes are 10mm diameter by 1.25 thread pitch (M10x1.25) and the 701 (61x cylinder) has 8mm diameter by 1.25 thread pitch (M8x1.25). Which...
Thanks!!
Also, I am using racelogics 760 porting template and the template has 3/16'' of overhang on the top portion of the exhaust port. Just ignore it? The sleeve had about 1/16'' showing that I matched to the exhaust port. Should I have left it there to help the port timing since it is a...
Does anyone know the thread pitch of the 8mm exhaust bolt holes on the 61x cylinder?
Also does anyone know the thread pitch of the 10mm exhaust bolt holes on the 62t/64x cylinder?
If I can get those, I can call timeserts and see if they offer an insert that has the outer thread pitch equal to...
I heated it at 450 deg for 25+min both times. I would prop open all the doors from the kitchen to the garage and put on my welding gloves then open the oven and grab the cyl and run it from the kitchen out to the garage setting it on my vise. Shake my hands a few times since the heat would bleed...
I did. Then when it did not fall out, I re-heated it and tried lightly tapping on the sleeve with a flat headed punch and it was not wanting to go. Hate to hit it any harder...
My sleeves did not just "drop out"... :(
Any suggestions for how to properly continue removing the sleeve after it is hit with a block of wood and rubber malet, and it is still in the cylinder body and all of the area to hit is now down in the cylinder body. (so the bottom of the sleeve is...
Sounds like a lot of work... you would either have to remove the sleeves or cut the "skirts" off in order to mill the base of the cylinder body. I guess if one is resleeving a cylinder, that is the prime time to do that mod! Also, I would think that the domes/ head would need more clearance for...
All the guys I ride with cut thier stator wires and put in weatherpack connectors. I was opposed to it at first but after pulling my motor a few times I gave in and have not had any issues. They come in many diff variations (2 plug, 3 plug, etc) Here is a pick of what a 5 post plug looks like:
