Thanks Wax. I was trying to error high and started with 120 jets and then installed 125. I guess I went too high! It's good to know I was in the ball park.

It's a Tom21 hood I built a million years ago at his shop. I wanted to point out that I made it because the imperfections are my fault! I'm sure he still makes this hood. Edit: The nose piece is Tom21 too and it normally fits properly, I don't have it bolted up in this picture.

I built the hood with visual carbon handholds but they got yellow over the years. maybe I should put a fake carbon sticker in there lol

I'm pretty far into my Covid19 project, the ski is painted and turfed. I'm not sure how to finish the inside of the handholds. I though I was going to turf the inside but I don't think that is going to work anymore. What are you guys doing to finish off this part?

it tail stands are your thing you need front exhaust!

the stock exhaust has a very low failure rate and is quieter. No one is designing a system to rob power.

you could try injecting water into the exhaust after the waterbox to quiet it down some more too.

I had to get all the water out of the engine compartment so I cut the bottom off.

since you guys are talking about carb upgrades would you rather have OEM 44s or 46's with the bomb sites removed. I have to make this choice for my ported/dry pipe .50 over 701. Thanks in advance!

I'll be installing dual carbs for the first time on this new engine build - all of my previous engines were 61x/61x. I'm doing a mock up of the engine now to get a parts list together. I'll be using an R&D intake for dual 44 carbs. It looks like the carbs will be installed with the throttle...

I think you could fabri-cobble something together from mcmaster but the rubber mounts with stainless inserts are 1in instead of 1.5 inch so youd have to make up the difference with hardware. At the end of the day I took the easy way out and spent more money.

I ended up ordering a set from Rhaas. After looking around he was the only one who had the right size in stainless. I know myself, I'm lazy and either too drunk or hungover for maintenance. I need stainless hardware.

Are the mounts standard thread and not metric? That may change things.
