Has anyone ever tested their system with a stock Yamaha coil? Does it work? MSD powersports said it won't but I'm not sure if he was talking about my system that uses 1 coil or the new system that uses 2 coils. I'm waiting on an email back

Also so it won't spark every time you touch the green wires together? It will only spark once?

Then what do you mean I was shorting the wrong wires?

Isn't touching the 2 green wires together to get the spark the way to do it when bypassing the pickup?

Is there a way to test the signal coming out of the brain to the coil? Using the blue and orange wires? Maybe with a multitude meter or test light?

I forgot to mention that I have tried using the stock replacement msd coil for Yamaha ignitions and I've tried using the stock coil that come out of the ski to test with and still nothing. Ive got a feeling something is wrong with the brain but don't want to accept it haha

Hi guys thanks for the info. Yeh I tried it using the flywheel and pickup as well as shorting the green wires and nothing except setting up static timing using the led. With switch 4 on the led works any way I test it but switch it to run and nothing. I have not tried kicking the engine over...

Sorry I should have been more clear. I tried setting it up and then turning it over by hand after setting static timing and nothing so I tried bench tested it by touching the 2 green wires together and nothing. The only way it's showing anything is when I have switch 4 on to run the led
