Here's my 2 cents:
I owned a 750 sx, did every mod to the engine (porting, b pipe, etc.) then I went to a 701 yamaha motor in the kawi. The ski handled great in the surf (with tubbies). the pump still lacked hook up. Although, SJ riders loved the 750 with the yamaha powerplant. The handling between the 2 is drastically different. In my opinion I still like the 750 handling better once your use to it. I MUST SAY SUPERJETS are NOT lighter than a 750 sx. Mine with the yamaha motor weighed in a 315 wet, that was a reinforced surf hull!

I'd recommend getting a Superjet now though. If you really get into the sport you will find yourself spending a lot on the 750 to get the power your want. The SJ is a better starting platform, which is why it sells for way more.

If you want to see my build of the 750sx with 701 just search "yamasaki best of both worlds"

Its funny how everyone bashes the 750. I had one, it was a fun ski that I beat the living :):):):) out of. And it survived until I smashed the nose into the rock, I slapped some fiberglass on the nose and kept riding. I broke down only once, and it was a stupid mistake I did. I did blow the bearings after installing a pipe and turning those 20 year old bearings at 7000+ rpm

What i'd like to say is, they are great introductory's to stand up skis. They aren't expensive at all, I put some money into it but only took a $1000 loss when I sold it. I rode that thing probably 100 hours last season. Parts are abundant and cheap. Now im rocking a modded 08 superjet which is superior in every way, but also a bunch more expensive. I ended up taking my first superjet home and knowing exactly how I wanted to set it up to my liking. I dont regret my Kawi.

If you buy a Kawi 750, make sure you find a clean unmolested one and just ride the piss out of it. Don't dump money into it because their resale is minimal and you'll take a lose. Ride it, learn it, save your money for the best deal on a superjet. Deals always happen when you're not in a rush.

Agreed if you do get a 750 DO NOT dump a bunch of money into. Just use it as a nice intro ski, then if you love the sport save up and buy a superjet when you find a deal.

^the 140mm pump is what holds the 750s back, I would like to see a 750 engine hooked up to a stock 144 yami pump and see which engine is really better..

If I kept my Yamasaki that would of been the next mod, but at some point you just have to ask is it worth it? And looking back I should of just started with sj or even a aftermarket hull for what I spent.
