03 octane 701

I am looking at purchasing a octane with a engine that was taken out of a 95 superjet 701 would this be a good ski or would it be under powered

[do you know what engine that had this one has a 61 X with a Coffman pipeQUOTE="MADMAT, post: 1649185, member: 106"]If it is the one I rode a few years ago at the New York ride then it is 100% awesome!
TE="MADMAT, post: 1649196, member: 106"]I am not sure but 99% sure it was a B piped 62t 61x motor. It felt great and I liked it immediately.
I guess what I'm trying to say was the engine fairly stock or is this one of those 701 that cost 4000 lol. what kind of riding do you do I'm looking for something more of a freeride ski

It'll run as long as the mag pump is still installed. Stock 701 Won't hit as hard as the Polaris 777 but will suffice. That being said if it's a built 62t or combo of the two it will most def yield nice performance. It's still a heavy ski but fun as hell to rip at wide open and be stable

okay so this is what I know about it 95 701 61x single carb it has a Coffman pipe solas mag pump and solas prop I'm just wondering if this is going to have enough punch because the octane is a heavy boat

It'll suffice but it comes down to price. You should ride it first if you can. If it still has the umi pole and aftermarket ride plate and intake grate those are a bonus. Finding a 777 and electrics may be hard if you ever want to go back to original specs but you can build that 701 that'll really get that hull moving. Just look to make sure the hood is in decent shape and expect the rear tray to have some water in there. They all do. You won't regret your purchase they have a lot of potential and can be improved and upgraded easily

Are you in Wisconsin? I've seen the ski in person. It's a piece of poop that all the good parts were taken off of it and it was slapped back together with anything that would fit. The turf looks terrible, etc. No padding in the top of footholds, etc. I think there's a kawasaki gas tank in it haha. No offense to the people involved in selling it since i know both of them, but I'm just watching out for another xh2oer. Not worth it..

yes I live in Wisconsin sheboygan and who is the seller of that ski I can't figure this guy out it seems like he has a hundred skis for sale
