Evening all-

I am doing my first build while I am waiting for my freak to be built. Was going to hold off however, couldn't help myself. I got an 06 SJ with about 10 hours on it for a deal too good to pass up. Here are my initial plans, I would like your thoughts and suggestions. This ski will be mostly for freestyle and choppy/boat wake free-riding.

Option 1:

Use stock and super clean 701 in the ski and add the following:

1) MSD Enhancer
2) Factory B Pipe
3) Lightened Flywheel
4) ADA Girdled Head w/35cc domes
5) Boysen Pro Series Reeds

Option 2:

1) Jet Maniac Ported Freestyle engines with ADA head and 35cc domes
2) MSD
3) Factory B Pipe

Other:

1) UMI Steering
2) Hooker 9/15 Prop
3) Skat Trak Grate ( have an extra one around)
4) Ride Plate (Looking for suggestions)
5) Dual Bilge setup (Already had them with switches)
6) Razr Hood/Nose setup
7) 0 Degree bars
8) ODI grips
9) Pole Spring
10) Looking at pole options at the moment. May just order a RRP for my freak and cut the stock pole and put the shortened stock back on when my freak arrives.

11) Paint of course....

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great to hear. I am going to get all the parts and take a few days off and just get it done.

Thanks

I'd go for Option 1 since you already have it?!. Skip the enhancer, go for an Epic instead. Also skip the reeds. I'd also skip the UMI steering, less hassle with the oem one ( which I prefer). Chop the oem pole off and use on the Superjet, get a pole from Tem for the Freak. Get an old race lenght plate, chop it short and d-cut it.

Thanks for the response.. An Epic? Sorry, hadn't seen that one. What is that. Pictures to come tomorrow.

The Epic is a programmable Ignition from ATP (Steve UK)

I Cant remember who said it but the RRP Pole doesnt fit 100% So best option is get Tem to make you a pole

Week has been a bit crazy however, this is the parts list so far. Starting on Sunday I think. However, the winning config is the JetManiac Ported FS Setup. I will put the parts list together on Sunday.

2) MSD Enhancer
3) B Pipe
4) Have 44 pair of carbs may use
5) WKD Razr Hood/Nose
6) Blowsion Lowered Hood bracket (unless someone knows an alternative that is red anodized)
7) Cold Fusion Hood Prongs/Mid Shaft Housing (red)
8) Dual Bildge Config
9) 0 Degree Bars
10) UMI Steering
11) Adding pole spring and cutting down factory pole
12) Some more red bling

While I am ripping it down thought about doing to he midshaft rebuild. Any thoughts?

Forgot. Footholds are on the list and will be installed tomorrow. More picures to follow de-turfed, sanded, and so on..

sweet ski and build. my plans for my 07 sj are a b pipe and msd enhancer. and a hooker 10/16. i already have footholds and an intake grate. also thinking about an xmetal steering setup and a -2 pole shorten.

Just curious why you are going with a 10/16? I had a limited set up last year when I bought my Hooker and Dave recommended a 9/15. It worked awesome. This year I have a 771cc DASA. I had the exit nozzle bored and installed a stubby pump cone, and this prop still works awesome with all the extra power.

Received your nasty 'ol midshaft yesterday, it was amazingly corroded and separating for such an new ski (guess the old owner didn't believe in flushing).

I rebuilt the midshaft with your new red CF housing. Midshaft itself is in perfect shape, so ski definately didn't have many hours on it.

well he recommended the 10/16 for a stock motor. i was gonna do the impeller before any engine mods. i sorta want the 9/15 for low end though. would this be ok on a stock 701?

I ran a 10/16 on my 650 (hi comp, pipe, MSD, etc) after my 701 blew
and it ran fine; no lugging at all.
got my 701 back in this winter and I love the hooker!
