08 sj out the door price

So i just got back from the dealership and they told me i could walk out the door with it for 7000. I was wondering what everybody got theres for or they know what would be a good range to talk them down to? I don't think that its all that bad but i want to know what you guys have to say.
Thanks

$7K is just ok. They msrp at like $6650 or something like that. That's not terrible, but I'm sure you could do a little better.

Guntersville Boat Mart offered me $6750 OTD (Guntersville, AL)

I've been quoted cheaper prices out of Florida, but with the prices of fuel it might cheaper to get it locally

I was quoted at $7080 from two places. Thats registered and ready to ride. I bought mine in Jersey so I didn't pay taxes or register it yet, it was $6530.

Today I phoned up the dealer I was planning on buying my SJ from, I was going to put a downpayment on one, I was quoted a price similar to the ones above, but the salesman i was dealing with was not in so they put me through to some random sales dude, and I was about to give my credit card info, but then I thought to ask what the price was once again from this new salesman. This guy said 8500 out the door!!! I said your joking whats the price, he responded "well I will go as low as $8200." I told him to go **** himself and hung up. Found another dealer but I wont be able to get a price quote untill Monday.
Is there a fee for putting these things together, if so how much is it worth? I thought all they did was acivate the battery then install it? or is there more to it then that?
I hope to be picking one up next weekend:fing02: hope all goes well.

would i be out of range to buy a 97 roundnose for 3k? Theres a guy in north florida with a roundie with a b-pipe and a milled head, and foothold's. Reinforced hull.... Is this still too much?

No I don't thinks so. Well maintained 97 with goodies would be a good buy $3500 or more. Condition, mods and location dictate the price of a Round Nose more than the actual year. The only thing thats changed on the RN is the colors from 96 to 07.

Then what was changed in 08 just the hull? So theres really no down fall from getting an 07 compared to a 97 just in how well its mantained right? Now if i were to get a later model what should i look for in it?

I personal don't think so. All the parts are the same. I was interested in the 08' because of the hull changes.

Yes, there are fees for assembly as well as shipping. The dealer pays for the shipping and passes it on to their customers. The assembly includes not only the battery, but also fuel/oil and removing it from the crate it was shipped and stored in. The technician has a checklist to go over and must file that with the warranty registration paperwork.
