Super Jet 08 + steering upgrade

So I got my new 2011 superset. I've been on them a lot before but I was like.... woah "Not a lot of sliding going on here"

I cut the ride plate flush with the rear of hull.

I drilled and tapped third spot on steering plate. Also drilled hole in closer to nozzle.

I tried it and I like it. I almost miss the carvability but this suits my needs better. As of not the cable binds slightly bars all the way left. I played with it for a while, could not get it perfect. I was only using the adjuster by the steering plate. Maybe I would have better luck with by the pump.

Should I instal some kind of steering stopper?

get the older 07- steering cable. i did that and i dont need a stopper. there more than an inch of extra throw on the old cable

The new superjets steering sucks. It's like a stock square nose. I put the new cable, cold fusion quick steer, and relocated closer to the nozzle and it's still not as good as my old superjet

I already sold the ski. But in my opinion the 08+ is good for racing / stock play ski. When your carving in stock form, its almost like a turning governor. It gives you as much nozzle angle as he hull can take with out sliding out. Thats kind of nice in a way for carving.

After I modded the steering, the ski was much looser. I would say, more fun for flicking it around. But I noticed the carving was not as good.

Anyway, I need an aftermarket hull for what I want to do.

Yeah I would like one as well but I still run bouys some so I'm sticking with a superjet

I just got a 2014 and when I unhook the steering cable there is only 1/4 inch of additional throw. By moving the mount to the outer hole on the steering block am I really going to see a difference?

It will help some but not a great difference, move the mounting location of cable on the nozzle in towards the center of the ski. I did everything possibly to mine and still wasn't happy. But i came out of a 06 SJ that turned amazingly. I'm awaiting a new handle pole for the last resort.

Ltd, it's a custom made adjustable handle pole. Looks kinda like an rrp. I'm not paying 1000$ for a pole. I got it from carterb on this site. I also put the 96-07 steering cable in it
