I had heard that the non sealed IE Walmart batteries would/ could break internally and go dead upon landing hard. But if slutties dont do this then dont see that as an issue any longer. I have had one kill a cell in surf (maybe just a coincidence) and I thought this was the case so I went to sealed cell $40.00 from local battery dealer and have had now in 2 boats for two years no problems.

$90 Odysseys do that, too.

:woot: My 96 hull is a beast! I have thrown the ski counless times from from huge stabs in 6ft surf, hull has landed on its side, upside down, broke the pole four times, and she takes it like a good slut. :biggthumpup: I am gona make sure I have my flat water BR's down before I hit the surf again, then I will start on 2-3ft waves and progress from there. I think riding alot of flat water has helped me alot in the surf.

Next time I pull the tank I will reinfoce the pole mount, but so far all looks good. If it ant broke dont fix it.:fingersx:

My hood is becoming a work of art.....I hope it keeps going as well as it has......its super low, that should also help with the Ski landing on its side....less water mass or whatever

Anyone wieghed a hull before and after reinforcement? I weighed a 96' I just bought w/ rails, stock pole brckt only, hull extensions & R&D front Sponsons (all soon to be removed), matts and small hardware.
w/o hood but w/ nose pc. 115#
w/ hood 140#
We will be removing some stuff, modding a hood reinforcing and adding footholds and hoping to drop some weight somewhere.
Once the hull and hood are ready for paint we will wiegh it up again and see what we occomplished. Just wondering if anyone else has this info?
