I was wondering how Your Waterdawg hood is holding up. Do have the freestyle hood or the freeride hood? I saw that the freestyle hood is on sale for $399.00 I was wondering if it will hold up to the surf abuse. Would You go with that hood or would You go with a Wamiltons?

Thank You.

spend the extra $ and get a wamiltons hood...i had a waterdawg and it was crap...the liner was barley attached and it fit terrible...in fact so terrible that it fell off and is at the bottom of the ocean (it was like it was too short and didnt allow for the hoodhooks to lock in all the way)..my wammer hood is going on a year old and there are ZERO problems/cracks etc....dont waste your money on a waterdawg

thats the freeestyle(lowered) the freeride is a stock height hood, more airspace=more time before it takes on water. the shell is holding up great. the liner not so well. its seperating and it wont be easy to seperate it all the way to fix it properly. i may make another liner or reinforce that one and attach it properly. the fit on mine is ok, no problem with closure. i run a ratchet strap system (brapstrap) from ej and it holds the hood on tight. it doesnt even need the hood hooks.
if your on a budget i think its a great hood, just expect to need to make repairs after a season or so.. if i could afford a high end hood i would definetly get that. 2 hand holds only.
