I just bought an 1100 triple sxr a week ago. It's a solid ski but when starting on the lift it fires up for one second then dies.It won't start again unless we use some starting fluid. After starting and running a couple seconds on the lift, it bogs for about 20 seconds while riding but then works well with no starting issues. When left overnight, the process starts over again.
The builder that I bought it from used the stock fuel pickup and described this starting issue to be related to the check valve installed on the fuel return line. However, after inspection, the fuel return line is not hooked up to anything. Also, the fuel routing is the ON running to two carbs and the reserve line running to one.
Would replacing the fuel pickup with a triple pickup solve this problem or does anybody have success with a stock pickup on an 1100. Any other suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any help
