the 08 is really cool..its a completely different ski..it has to be ridden way more agressive than the old ones..it holds a rail almost too good...it DOES NOT slide so it makes some kinds of turns in the surf very difficult..i think it will just take a different riding style and may take a while to figure out..it is very easy to ride (doing basic stuff) and i think it will be an sxr killer on the race course..if there were still surf races this thing would dominate....the nose dosnt want to pearl even with the narrower 'tubbies"..i think the narrow tail makes up for it...and granted the only one ive ridden was tcs and its all dialed and i havent ridden a stocker..
