12 vein pumps

I am considering getting a mag pump for my set up. My question is, would I see a big difference in pop? Or should I save the $400 (buying 12 vein stator only) and wait until I get a bigger motor? Currently I am running a 61x, single carb with ada head, 144 pump with solas concord 13/17 impeller. I will be using it on a gen 2 glass bob with trim. Wanting to try to backflip off of a boat wake.
If your budget is limited, repitch your impeller and bore the nozzle. This will improve thrust and response noticeably. A large hub impeller and 12 vane pump will keep working when your small hub/stock pump struggles. You will need to raise the rev limit a little with the low pitched impeller. Reeds and carb mods will make minimal improvement compared to port work and pump tuning.

There's a few places selling solas pumps that have had the bearings clearanced. I would either do what kevbo said, or do the solar pump and a hooker. It's nice to get the pump out of the way though. Spend money once and be done with it. Other than tuning lol..!

If your on a budget, I would consider buying a large hub impeller and use it in your stock pump. It actually works pretty well. Other mods you might consider, lightweight flywheel, or a performance exhaust if you don't have them already. Just my 2 cents...

If / when you decide to go with a pump, keep me in mind. I stock the Solas and sell for 420.00+ s&h. We turn EVERY pump on a lathe to open up, and true the bearing area and reduce press.

I also have OE lightened flywheels. Our flywheels are balance to within 1 gram for reliability.

Also have large hub Solas, Skat, and Hooker impellers available.
