Freestyle 13/17 solas prop, wanting more bottom end. Suggestions/advice

Location

Hey guys im new to the forums. I have an 02 RN SJ. My motor set up is as follows below... I was considering switching to a 9/15 hooker prop, my ski makes plenty of power at top end just seems like the prop is spinning up to much and not pulling me out the water as i think it should on my bottom end. Do you think my sj is over propped more for top end? Looking for bottom end torque, not worried about losing some top end. Any advice/suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

prop will help.but if you really want some low end brap, get the msd total loss and turn up your ignition to about 23* initial advance.night and day difference.

IMO....go back to stock cone!! And be at 85mm exit...and that prop SHOULD snap really really good! Maybe cut it back 3mm...re-pitch a hair??? Cheap options to start.

That stubby pump cone murdered my snap. HATED it!

And FWIW I returned a hooker 10/16 and stuck my small hub 13/16-3mm solas and stock cone at 85! It is GREAT IMO.

Been through 2 or 3 dry pipes and water injection over the years too and could never get the snap I wanted. Not saying can't be done but....

I like have a couple really low pitch props around if only just for testing. My 8/14 hooker is on a drypipe setup similar to yours, and it pulls great off the bottom. I've also had my older 11/12(repitched from 13/17) concord in there and it also pulled hard off the bottom. Everyone's opinions are going to be different. I'd start by having your current prop repitched, or pick up a 9/15 hooker, and for sure buy a tach and learn how to use it to tune.
