FX-1 144 pump conversion fx1

This thread is really helpful. I am in the process of doing this now and had a few questions:

1. What kind of epoxy are you using to fill the 122 shoe before boring?
2. How are you getting the pump to fit and line up while having the ride plate fit on?
3. What steering cable are you using?
4. Is there a pump nozzle combo that works better or will any setup work?

Thanks!

1) Can't help you there. We never bored out any of our 122mm pump shoes. But I did eventually swap to a 144 pump shoe on my Fx-1 and did notice a difference so I would definitely bore it.
2) Ride plate does not clear the pump without some modification. the stock rideplate clears it if you grind down some of the "ribs"
3) 08+ superjet cable works if you are using the stock Fx-1 handlepole. I'm using an x-metal pole on mine with a 96-07 SJ cable
4) We used a kawasaki 650sx turn nozzle. just flipped over w/ the little ball that grabs the steering cable facing down.

hope that helps

The mounting tabs are welded onto the pump and exit nozzle to utilize the stock holes. Just drilling new holes is not as it seems. You'd be exposing the foam and compromising the tray and rear of hull to water intrusion and still have to attach the pump some how using a insert nut or similar.

-You have pull the turf off the tray and drill thru and seal all holes back up. The welded tabs are just an easier fix without tearing up anything structural or cosmetic

Makes sense. I have the turf off anyways so that doesn't concern me. It just looked like it was solid glass where the new holes would need to be and it would not be open to the tray.

Have you only weld and modify the support on the nozzle i want to do this mod to my fx1 soon and i have a question to how properly aligne the 144 pump to the 122 shoe Î have ordered a fully complete. Superjet pump and i when i look on your pics inon'y see the front support rewelded ???
