Freestyle 144 v 148 Mag on 1000cc?

I have an XFS with an XS1000 with PFP/49 specs/TL etc - I'm running a 144 Magnum pump with 16/21 and it seems OK, would the 148 give much better performance on my setup?

I was running a 144 solas 12 vein in a xfs with 950 dasa 8mm and just installed 148 maxx set back

i was under propped on the 144 and instead of wasting $$$$ on props I just went to a 148

i will let you know when I test it

Pump tuning is good entertainment for sure. It's kind of like getting your engine dialed in right. When it's right, it's an amazing experience. Once your pump is matched to your engine... Holy crap. Then when you get the pump dialed, or close to it, you will probably change jetting, or at least screw settings. It's a hard road to travel, but well worth the time put in.

heres my set up in my rickter fs2

Dasa 1100 10mil
b pipe
49mm full spectrum carbs
stock flywheel
epic x3 cdi
144 mag pump
12/18 prop

I have no low end? Cant figure it out?
Any help is appreciated,

Peter

While a 144 is small for that setup, it should have bottom end. Just not as much as a bigger pump would. As wanderer said, a 12/18 impeller in a 144 pump seems really low pitched for that motor setup.
Who did the driveline setup? Was this all done by one person? (In other words, what competency level put this setup together?)

most 148mm pumps use a 14/19 prop with 1000 or so CCs. i put a 17/23 prop in my max 144 behind a WDK 1200 and it worked great. i doubt the prop is your problem. with that 12/18, your motor motor should go from idle to red line instantly.

multiple builders use that setup. if its just thrown together, without a second thought, you'll have to ask them. it would not surprise me in the least if it was blindly assembled that way and called good enough. thats what is behind my dasa 1000 freak and WDK rokr 1200 with 148s. i think that was behind josh's dasa 1000 also and kennys wdk 1200 rokr. the savage told me the correct prop for the wdk1200 with a 144 was a 14/21.

I had a 920 non powervalve which the set up was built around. The motor blew it up last summer. decided to go with a dasa 1100 pv in the same ski. so now im trying to get it dialed in. trying to use what i can this summer due to funds if that makes sense?

SO you are using the exact same pump setup that you had for the 920 non-PV also for the 1100 PV motor?
