144mm FX1 PUMP

Slug

Forever Young
I've finally given up on Blowsion for their fx1 pump and have decided to try and make my own. I'm looking for as much info and pics as I can get. I'm really interested to hear from guys that have done their own and can help me with short cuts and hurdles that they came across. I don't want to cut my hull if I can help it. Even better if someone has one already done that they would be interested in selling and shipping to Australia please let me know.
Any info will be apprieciated.
Cheers
Dale

I had some good links in my favorites but had a little issue and lost everything. I know theres some more info out there just gotta find it. As to the Blowsion issue yeah its cool they are trying but it doesnt look like it will be done anytime soon like this decade. From what Ive read you have to make a custom pump shoe of course and use the FXs driveshaft other than that its just moving some mounts around and shimming the plate down however you choose to seems to be popular to bolt steering nozzle through ride plate. One guy also cut his hull so he could open up the grate area and put in a SJ intake as you are now trying to feed a larger pump therefor needing more water. Im also thinking might have to relocate steering to other side of cone but that depends what cone your using also

Big Pump Conversion

FX-6.9 boy and I have done several of these. We actually made one for John at Blowsion some years back ( I think thats where they got the idea). We have been kicking around the idea of building some of these this winter. With our design you use all the stock fx-1 mounts and ride plate. We also changed his to a super jet pump shoe and intake. PM me if anyone is interested:biggthumpup:

Bob,

You will likely have alot more than 1 person interested! Anychance you could post up a price, since you would be making them?

No, but you can get the aluminium shoes from blowsion. We ran one for years without replacing the pump shoe and had a huge difference in performance. But when you enlarge the intake area and put a SJ intake grate and pump shoe in you get even more hook-up.

so, you need:

complete 144 pump (stator/reduction nozzle/wear ring/prop)
fx longshaft

and the stock pump shoe can remain in place?

or replace with aluminum shoe (fx style) from blowsion???

Hi Bonzia Bob,

I'm interested in your modification but I'm very curious on what you do to gain so much space down on the pump.

Here is a pic of a SJ pump just dropped in the back of a fx1. There is a huge gap to be able to fit back the plate...
even if you start grinding the pump... I'm curious on how you can manage without touching the fiber..

Thanks
