The final just ended with Kelley Slater and Owen Wright ,Slater winning. I was rooting for Owen who surfed amazing to get to the final. In the end I thought Owen was gonna do It as he pushed Kelley to use priority which caused Kelley to go over the falls backwards.Later it will be available as one of the heats on demand.Owen then needed a 9 and he was sitting in priority .The clock wound down without the wave Owen needed to win.

The contest was a classic for sure. Between the tow session, Jordy dislocating a rib and then still surfing and winning his heat injured, a perfect twenty by Jeremy flores, and the underdogs knocking off the big names in solid 10' barrels it was definatly one to remember.

I was pulling for Owen as well, But still an amazing result for him.

AWESOME stuff how good was the coverage of the event live streams of all heats, free sessions and the most epic tow session of alltime although I am sure a few of you east coast guys had other things to worry about over the last couple of days. Wonder how much to ship a ski to Tahiti hmm.

Every time I see that wave I get goose bumps and that looked like one of the sickest days charging it way way deep , it's Fn nutty.

I don't think most people get how heavy that wave is, can believe there weren't more injuries that day .

I went back to view the slideshow in the link above, and noticed it does not take you directly to it (and I can not make it do so). You must wait 15 seconds for it to load off of the promo page, and then you need to activate the 20 sequenced photos by clicking next three/four times, then look at that very last pic (I can't tell if he's naked or not, lol).

Still looking for info about her carnage though.
