155 mag pump bearing installation

throw the bearing in the deep freezer for a night to shrink it down a tiny bit, then press it in.

or take it to a machine shop and have them press it in if you dont have the proper tools.

I forgot!
Low heat. Mine is too hot to handle by hand. I actually put it in front of my electric space heater for my garage. It gets hot but not glowing. Lol. I would set the oven st the lowest setting. Have everything ready and work fast. I don't have a press and I lightly tapped it in with a mallet.

If you put the shaft in the freezer then heat the bearings on a old shop light with the flat glass put the bearing on the glass with a piece of metal on the other side of the bearing. Heat the inner race to around 200f then slide it on the shaft. Then put the whole assembly in the freezer and heat the housing with a map gas torch. (Have done it on the stove top before) doesn't have to be too hot because aluminum expands fast. Then slide the full assembly into the housing.

I just did it I put the bearing in the freezer for 2 hours ( Told my father in law not to eat it) put my stator in the wood fire Bbq for 10 minutes at 180, took the stator out and put some synthetic amzoil grease and it was perfect the stator was not to hot
