155 OEM PUMP TALK

Thanks guys. If I need to I can use the rrp coupler spacers and move the midshaft back 10-14mm or whatever the difference is. Or I'll send a couch shaft to the maniac to shorten.

I'm looking foward to having more than 701 power for the first time.

What's everyone doing for nozzles? Smallest reduction is 86mm which can be bored to your spec, but finding steering nozzles seems to be the hard part. All pro Tecs come at 92mm and stock plastic is 87mm. So trying to keep 3mm difference between the two seems like a hard task.

I'd Like to hear everyone's setups. Im going dasa 1000 bpipe oem 155 6/14. Yet to get a 155 reduction nozzle. I'm stoked to finally run some decent power.

You can run it, but the 10mm short could get bad with big power.
You could do like you said, push the mid shaft in 10mm and use a coupler spacer.

Are the driveshaft length the same for oem 144 and oem 155 pumps? Going in an Sj based ski.
I've searched a few threads and couldn't find any info and I've heard mixed info from my sources.

The 155 wear ring is wider than the 144 wear ring, so the 155 pump stator is moved back as compared to a 155. This makes driveshaft too short by this same amount. You can press the midshaft back more than stock press through and add extra midshaft coupler thrust washers to put coupler back in same position. You can't press the midshaft back far enough to make up all of the difference.


You don't need long pump bolts. Just use a short nut n bolt to bolt the stator to the wear ring then do the same to bolt the reduction nozzle to the stator.

The problem with this setup is you have to pull the complete pump ever time which messes up your pump alignment. 2 piece stock pumps are nice because you can leave wear ring sealed in place after initial alignment. If you just pull long pump bolts and reduction nozzle bolts and remember amount of nozzle shims, then you can reinstall pump after prop swap, etc. without having to pull motor and midshaft to realign pump.


The blaster 2 is the only one that is close, if not the same.
But the 155 drive shaft needs to be 10mm longer than an sj because of the wear ring being longer.
So if you have jetmaniac cut you a drive shaft, he'll know, but it needs to be sj length plus 10mm.

Blaster 2 driveshaft is too long. There is no 155 pump with a SJ length shaft in it stock. No SJ ever came stock with anything other than 144 pump.

If you have to pull out your motor and midshaft to realign your pump every time you pull your pump, you might want to find someone else to work on your stuff.

My set up so far seems to be working ok,but l need more time in the tray to evaluate.

I'm running a 155 in a superjet I just installed this year. I bored out my 144 shoe but didn't have time to mod the intake section yet.

It's a oem 155 with 6/12 d75 prop cut back 5mil on a bpipe 735 with total loss and ported/head etc.

I have not modded the pump at all other than installed a fixed trim bracket and put a Tbm pump stuffer from my old 144 in there.

The pump has crazy torque off idle but barely nothing in the mid range to actually hit my setup wakes. I can't not make it to the lip point before they disappear however I can get really fast speed out of the pump too. The nozzle is still stock size so I'm going to bore it out for more flow. I'll see how that works.

Maybe take the upper degree portion of the prop down to an 11?

I bored the nozzle to 90mm. Made the world of a difference. Pump performs really well now. It stays way more hooked up than my 144. I'm running the small cone in the Tbm and have not had the chance to play with the cone sizes. I'll update when I do.

Some updates on my set up. @hornedogg79 and l got a couple hours on the pump now.l had a problem with the gas tank coming loose and a solenoid that was going out last weekend.That ended the ride time fairly quick.Made improvements to th tank and got another solenoid,we rode it again yesterday.
The pump has pleanty of power low-mid to mid and up,but lacks some power on the bottom.The power comes on late and is a matter of getting use to it.You notice it more when you land and hit the throttle from almost a dead stop.Gonna turn the idle up just a touch today to see if that will help.Jon got almost all the way around on a few flip attempts from a his set up wake.l think getting used to the power band and he will make it around. Overall l am satisfied with the power.l would like to just try a @Sasquachcrap pump set up (*hint) to see how it performs.
Gonna continue working with the tuning but l think for now the choise of prop pitch is good.Maybe Jon will have some comments.

Been a while since l updated this thread,but had a lot going on this summer and not enough time to get it all done.Especially ride time!!!

Been chasing an electrical problem that finally l got worked out with lots of help! Got to ride this past Sunday with Joe aka my650sux.First time l rode a tank of fuel thru it.Even though it is only a 3.3 tank.Just enjoyed the hell out of riding again and feeling more comfortable on the Circus.Such an awesome ride! Too bad l have to give it back to its owner at the end of the month.But got another build waiting on me over the next couple months.Stay tuned for more updates.The ski does rip but as referenced in a previous post that the bottom from almost a dead stop just isn't there,but now that l am gonna be riding more maybe l can get the problem isolated.The other thing l keep in mind is that low speed issue may not ever get resolved.But I'll keep trying........

Now if l can get @hornedogg79 to get his Chan finished,we all can enjoy what's left of summer!

Jus tested my fs2 with 760 plus5mm stroker and oem 155 pump with blaster 2 stock impeller - no money for new e75 style. It makes good power on mid and high but not much more then the magnum 144 with 2008 sj imp on bottom.
