Anyone here ever tried a 155 pump in their stand up?
I have a 789 home built motor that makes pretty good low end power and I want to put a 155 pump in my Ariel 8
Not sure if it'll make a positive difference or not though
Don't want to spend the cash on a 148

I have an oem 155 in an xjet with a 718 and it works good in my opinion. 7/15 skat swirl big hub 5mm cut back and stub pump cone, nozzle bored to 90mm

Is the 155 just a flatwater advantage or does is it also better than a 144 mag in the surf? How does it work on on rec boats that don't want to blow up for extended WOT?

My setup still has so much top end you could never hold it wide open and stay on, maybe in a more stable hull. My xjets pump intake is huge and I run no intake grate and it works great in the waves or or flat water

I don't have anything special, ported b pipe 61x/62t combo with a msd enhancer and carbs that are set up well. The hull has enough intake to feed the pump and the pump specs were something that had already worked and someone was willing to share with me. The only way I could see a 155 hurting performance is in a poorly setup or tuned combination.
