Custom/Hybrid 155 pump?

So the question I have is... Is the stock 155mm pump better than a 144mm pump with a Solas mag stator? Thinking about trying to squeeze one into an F1 Pro hull with an 850cc. Already have a nice Sato trim, new wear ring, and a 144mm aluminum shoe, but still have to spend $750 on the mag stator/prop. I can get an entire 155mm pump assembly with trim for around $200.

I am lucky enough to say I have rode both Droc's ski (155mm with tbm) and BoostedBseries (144mm solas mag) skis. Both have properly dialed in motors and nicely 'tuned' pumps. I don't know that there is any significant advantage of the 155 pump with tbm or the 144mm mag from what I could tell. I think as long as whatever you have is set up properly they are both much better then the OEM 144.

Im running an 1100 triple so its either grind at the tunnel a little bit and change out the pump shoe to run the 155, or get a tall impeller for the 144

I forgot!
It makes a difference.
I run my trim locked to one position, it's adjustable but does not move when locked in. I think I have a reduction nozzle that does not use a trim ring or it at least had the bosses to tap. It's pretty small exit diameter IMO and I think you can only bore it out to 87-88mm if you like it paper thin.

well here is what a pump duct for a 155 looks in one of my new FP! hulls, you will see it does hang a little lower on the bottom of the ski and we had to modify the duct a bit to make it suit , but it is not unachievable , testing in a week or two with just a stock 760 wav blaster motor with head and pipe , stock 6 vein pump
We had to reposition the inserts hence the grind makes which still need to be sanded and buffed but not to bad if i say so photo-51.jpgphoto-53.jpg

forgot to mention the top of the pump needs to be ground off so the ride plat fits , also not sure but we actually fitted the fire wall when doing the pump so ours is aligned perfect with the motor , not sure how it will work with a stock superset but i can say i can now fit a 155 in my ski,s , weather i offer this option no idea yet LOL

Here is what i ended up doing to get mine to fit. Cut out the shole pump mounting area and glassed in a new mounting plate. Still have to finish and paint but it worked out pretty good.

Did you use the stock 144mm plastic pump shoe or the 155mm Blaster-II pump shoe?

Jet-Dynamic's also makes a 155mm aluminum pump shoe part number: JD155

Does anyone have a standard reduction and trim nozzle for the 155? I dont feel like running a trim tube through my hull this year and just want to keep the setup simple
You can use the Yamaha 65R reduction nozzle from a 1999-2004/XL700 or 1998-1999/XL760 or 1997-1998/WV700-WV760 if you want a 155mm size nozzle without the trim setup which is part number: 65R-R1318-00-00.

Note this part has a slight upsweep on nozzle, around 5* I would say.
