Run a ground from ur battery to ur engine, and a ground from your battery to your ebox. Then one from ebox to engine. Clicking will be gone.

yes the starter starts to turn and it spins the gear into the flywheel but then it hits and doesn't turn like the gears are locking. also that's how the grounding wires were set up before I disassembled the ski. yeah my ground wire was pretty screwed up so that was probably it. ill keep the flywheel then that saves me a lot of money. thanks Kwak. also Im looking at putting foot straps in the back of my tray because i want something to hold my feet but I don't want to cut into the walls of my tray for footholds. any good places to buy good ones on the cheaper side? Im planning to put them right next to the walls so I still have a good wide stance but I can really pull the ski.

Yeh almost all 550 and 440 flywheels look like that lol. Is your starter working good? Maybe it needs to be rebuilt. It might not be strong enough, at the end of the season could it crank up your ski at a good speed?

But truthfully, a stock 550 doesn't go anywhere. You should definetly upgrade it. And if you have access to machines you can mill the head, deck the cylinder, port the cylinder (DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE ATTEMPTING), open up exhaust, lighten flywheel, make less volume in the intake Mani by filling in and smoothening certain spots (this will increase your throttle respond, skat impeller, blueprint pump, bored nozzle, vwalla , fast 550 on budget. I believe that's what group k does to their limited 550 engines.

You know I want to do all that but I'm loosing intrest in the project sadly and summer is right around the corner so I just want to have the thing running when it's nice enough to hit the water. I originally was only planning to paint it in the first place but then got carried away on the engine... You know how It goes...
