1989 kawi js550 won't start

It ran good last year. I winterized and put in new battery. Didn't want to start back up this year. I ended up cranking too long on starter and it fried. Installed a new starter, after pulling the plugs in and out several times to clean them it started. Ran for a little while. i had it at full throttle then it just stoppped. After inspection front spark plug wire vibrated loose and rear spark plug was loose and the spark end of the plug was bent. I replaced spark plugs and secured the spark plug wires. Now having issues with just getting it to start. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Is there any way or any parts to make this thing more reliable at start up?

sounds like carb, if it just started and then died it could well as be the carb. since its been winterized it going to take a little love to get her running again. poor some fuel in the spark plug holes and re-connect everything, this will give you a better idea if its a spark or carb problem, might as well check compression. it it starts up then its obviosly not spark, if it doesnt then it could be spark, or wires or coil etc. but most likely its more simple then that.

dumped starting fluid down the spark plug hole and could only get it to pop once. Initially after that, thought it wasn't getting fuel so kept pushing primer button while trying to start and it still didn't kick over. Spark from the same spark plug was noticeably different from jet ski to a nearby four wheeler. How would i test to see if it is stator or e box any help would be great. thanx
