Ok, here is a tough one. The ski is a piston port 550sx with a Group K sleeper kit and a Super BN carb.
When cold, it starts easily and runs fine. Once parked after a run, it is hard to start and once it does start, it does not want to get onto the high speed circuit without pumping the primer several times while riding. Once it does manage to get onto the high speed circuit, the ski runs fine, idles fine and acts normally.
It also restarts fine hot, if I do not let it sit too long.
I have not checked my compression, but I would assume that would make it hard to start when cold, not hot. The ski has plenty of power and does not have many hours on the top end. It is almost like there is a vacuum forming in the metering chamber that is keeping it lean. Maybe i should check my tank vent?
Anyhow, do any of you gurus have any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
