nah, used the equivalent sized pool hose from home depot.

Same stuff they give ya anyhow. It's too small though for a big motor. I'm going to add two more of the same size hoses to a liner in the hood. Should be fine then.

ya i have a 93 sn and i didnt neven wanna chance the airflow so after i chopped my hood i did the yama slut hood mod and it worked out perfect and theres a 100 diffrient ways to cut the holes in the back of the hood. what ever looks good to u. and for the hood liner i used some 2.5mm birch plywood coated it with west system resion to water proof it and glued it in with 5200 works great no problmes. if i had to make another liner i seen this guy he used duck tape as a mold release put a couple layers down in his hood layed glass on top of it pulled it out and said the duck tape comes of very very easy. just an idea but oviously u know what ur doing cuz u went way agro on the mods and it shows. SICKEST LOOKING SN ON THE X (i think) anyways good job have fun with that hood liner

only rode it twice. Been dialing in the carbs on the fixed steer lately. Hitting hard with 38's now.

I need to finish the hood liner on this thing and put a watcon hood seal on it. The "surf seal" I tried wouldn't fit over the lip of my hood and I had water issues on the second ride.
I'll get back to it soon since big waves are coming.

they are calling for 6-9 footers @ 15 second delay for monday. Nice smooth clean surf. Maybe I'll get some video of this ski soon.

nope don't do it. Won't work on that hood either. I bought three and only kept one to use on my RN. It barely fits around the lip and won't let the hood close fully on a fix steer.

Rode this again today. What an awesome ski. I forgot how much power the 865 has. I got used to the 771 and thought it was strong, but man the 865 is way more fun.

Can't wait to flip this ski in jersey next weekend.

Bruceski I love this build. I'm installing footholds in my sn and fixing the hood for the first time right now. You are quite an inspiration. I'd love to chop mine up like this in a few years after I learn more.

Thanks man!!!

I'm going to be putting this back together with an 865 again and selling by the middle of the season. I need to trim down on my fleet. Too many skis and need to save for a wedding.

This ski is a ton of fun though!!

Wedding pshhhh.......yea i know they suck and are expensive, seems like you put the word wedding infront of anything and you can tack on an extra 0 or two.

I know this is kind of a dead thread but I am getting ready to start on my square and I was looking at yours. Did you not end up cutting the nose to rocker it ..or did you just foam and glass up from the current location?

Did you ever get a final weight? How did she react with the cut hull ...my Square feels like a heavy tank. I was hoping to lighten the load with this type of build.

No idea what it weighs. It handled just fine with the cut. WOT in a straight line was even fine. That boat is probably in the mid 50's at WOT. Made it slightly nose higher in surf and gave a lot more pop off boat wakes and flat water.

I ride freestyle primarily on flatwater and boat wakes so this is good news. I feel like the back end of my ski won't come out of the water. I have a spare hull I want to cut into and thought your build fit what I was looking to accomplish really well. Did you ever flip it or do any other tricks on the hull?
