1990 Square Nose taking on water

That doesn't seem very likely, or most of us would be having the same problem.

Have you removed and inspected the plastic elbow at the top? It has a tiny hole in the side to break the siphon. Maybe it is clogged or damaged?

When you say once the line is clear of water it is fine, which would lead me to believe the tiny hole is clogged and is allowing it to siphon.

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!! Thank you mbrick!!! I just grabbed the plastic elbow and you are right, it has a tiny little hole that I never would have noticed, and it's completely clogged. Hoping that does the trick . . . sure would make sense. Thanks dude!

Awesome! ;)

I can't say I have ever seen one clogged, but it makes sense based on what you described. The comment about it stopping after you clear water from the line was very helpful.

I'd blow it out real well with an air hose and make sure it's good and clear.

Thanks for taking the time to read my saga . . . I try to be detailed as sometimes it's those little clues that a knowledgeable mind will pick up on, but worry that it's a lot to read thru. If you are ever up by Lake Isabella, hit me up . . . would love to bring a 12 pack of your choice and ride with you!!! Luckily I'm only 5 minutes from the water, as I've been at the lake pretty much every day for the last week trying to figure this out. Can't wait to just get out and ride it for a while vs. running back to the beach every few minutes to pop the cover and see what it's doing . . . I think I'll play hooky tomorrow morning or take an extended lunch and hit the lake tomorrow and see if that did the trick.
