Here's the deal, I have a 1991 650 Superjet sitting in the garage. I picked up a 760 engine complete with the carbs. Should I also get the electronics off this guy? PS: It is a yamaha waveraider. I have a set of 701 electronics but is it nessasary to get the 760 electronics.
My plan is to swap the 760 into this hull, I have read that it will bolt right in without the stock 760 exhaust. Also, I am still a begginer rider that can only do subs and a little hood riding. Is there any pipe that will directly bolt into the 760 or will I need to use "hellcoil?" spelling? bolts inorder to fit it? Any info will be very much appreciated. Also, I am changing the steering cable to a RN cable, will this be ok with the 760 engine?

Thanks guys :brap:

you can use any 650/701/760 electronics. I'd go with 701 electronics though.

I don't think the raider exhaust will work in the SJ, could be wrong though.

I'd heli-coil the exhaust bolt holes.

the steering cable has nothing to do with the motor and I'm not sure if it'll work with a square pole. probably will but you might want to ask around.

The only reason I would drill the manifold holes out larger instead of helicoiling them is so that the manifold lines up better. If not, you will have a large range of play with the manifold once all the bolts are in and not tightened.
