1991 wave runner 3

hi I am new to the forum and am hope I'm posting this in the correct spot. Sorry if not. But I'm hoping someone has the torque specs for the intake grate bolts on a 1991 Yamaha waverunner 3 650. I used blue loc tight and put them in fairly tight because they are going in to aluminum charge duct any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, welcome to the X!

I dont even know if there is a torque spec for the intake grate bolts. Most just put some silicone on the 2 flat spots where the grate sits to the hull/pump, and then some silicone on the threads of the bolts. Just use a 1/4 drive and get them tight, dont over tighten them. The silicone is because some inserts can leak water into the hull and also if the bolts come loose the silicone may help keep the grate from breaking or falling off and possibly pieces going through the pump.

Youll be fine with the loctite too, just dont over tighten and strip them.

Thanks that's great I don't silicone the grate in but I can silicone around it were it sits in my charging duct and the bolt holes don't go in to my hull so I don't think I will get any leaks. thanks again
