1993 Blaster mystery!

Traded the square for this blaster! Have a few questions maybe y'all can help! It has 155 psi in both cylinders! Should be more, never owned an aftermarket head! Factory b pipe of course! Check out the pics and educate me!!

I see CPR etched in it! Guessing porting was done! Don't have a clue who CPR is!

Pull the topend...check the bore & install new Piston / rings, new o'rings on Head. This way you'll have an idea what condition your engine is in which in turn will give you peace of mind. 155 psi is low for that head...should be arond 170/180

I know it hasn't been ran much! Would running a few tanks through it make a difference? I always thought with aftermarket heads that psi would atleast be in the 170 range depending on domes! Good idea replacing piston/rings! Orings readily available where?

Jetmaniac will have what you need, quality affordable parts...plus a ton of knowledge. You Compression is low for an aftermarket head. You'll have probably $400- $500 in parts/ boring if you do your topend yourself. Sure there are some local Guys that can help you. You can run all the Gas thru it you want...it won't help with compression. Loss of compression is a sign of wear

For sure jetmaniac first stop! Weisco piston, rings, rod bearings! Might as well get bore, orings...... Thanks for the input JA!!

Might as well rebuild carbs while I'm at it and inspect reeds. Open flywheel cover and see what I'm working with in there also. ... never seen a triton head, and no domes on this head. Is that normal for the front cylinder to run a bit more rich then the back? First dual carb set up I have owned. Def need to open carbs up to see what size the jets/n&s are. I would imagine they are FP spec. Found out what the CPR is for. (Cycle Parts Racing) located in the Houston TX area. No website. I also do see a bit of porting but not extreme.

Looks like it has potential, not gonna repeat what was said before. Needs some work but will rip when it's dialed in

If the motor is ported, depending on how it was ported will determine what compression you should be running. use to you got "Pump gas" and "Race Gas" porting. your compression numbers have nothing to do with what octane you use. Just a tool.
Ever looked at tripple cylinder compressions. A race setup may have 150 lbs at most, and that can be high........

I am not sure why people think weisco pistons are the bees knees. They require more clearance and slop around too much when cold and expand too much when warm. Pro x pistons for the win. After grenading my superfreak motor this weekend I completely agree with johnny africa here

I ran it a few weekends ago and power off throttle is lacking! Runs like a top but seems like it has a power bad 1/4 to full throttle! No clue what condition the carbs are and no clue on screw setting! I'm scared to touch them and it not run right! The front carb (closest to knose) runs richer then the back carb correct? Maybe a little Insight on a starting point would be great!

I guess starting point would be calling FP! Pro-x pistons where what I used on my SN build! Not sure why I said weisco! In the last pic you can sort of see the extent of the porting!
