The flywheel bolt is regular thread. I have been using a $10 harmonic balancer puller for years now. You dont need a high dollar Snap On... Just remember, only screw on the 3 puller bolts about 1/2" into the flywheel or you will damage the stator.

Roger that! got the nut off earlier.. got to the airport and grabbed the expensive snap on puller from the shop box.. LOL.

Ill be on it tomorrow.. i ordered another stator.. I hope it cures it... though i have an sh!tty feeling i will be ordering a CDI as well.. grrrr.

bought new stator.. replaced it.. checked all my connections, they are all clean. I even removed the ground cable from the engine and cleaned that real good..

still the same, weak spark until i try to start it.... then no spark.


this story is getting old.

CDI is next I guess.

Yep, CDI. I think you ruled everything else out.

Any news? My ski mysteriously has no spark, I replaced the cdi and nothing, ohmed out the pick up and coil. Coil seems out of spec, but then again so was the cdi. I was thinking about using a gm waste spark coil in its place to test. My stator and pick up coil both test fine and are minty. Sunday I am going to a freinds house with a running ski, and I am going to swap parts until I figure out where the gremlin is hiding! I would also like to ride my ski before the end of time..

newbie heer. And i thought I had the bad luck. replaced head gasket on my 760 after one day on the lake just purchased, seller told me I blew the motor no warranty. dumbass put the wrong head gasket on it. fixed. other carb wouldnt put fuel after running for three hours. Pulse diaphram in carb had a tear. Fixed with the rebuild kit. Geez gotta be getting headaches every which way. This story is mine. I run to skis now aftyer cussing and being upset at the world. we now have fun with our toys. I wish you the same luck my friend. Start basic use your volt meter. You will find it and learn something by it. Im sure the wife feels terrible. Someone here will help you. These people here care and have all kinds of info.
