Does the 95 and less 61x cdi are the same as the 96+ 62T Cdi ?? Will it change my performance if I run a 61X cdi on my 96 superjet?

I heard that the oldder cdi 61x have a lower rev limiter ..??

It is super easy to alter the rev limiter of the older ones. Mine is around 7500 on my 91 CDI. Just rip out old resistor and solder in a 50k pot and 50k resistor and adjust to what you want the limit to be.

Why not just solder in a 75k ohm resistor and call it a day? Not adjustable but isn't ~7500 good enough and then never touch it?

Even easier, lol. and it saves 25cents!

I like having a rev limiter. Just personal preference as to removing completely or not with the solder bridge.

OK yesterday I ran my jet to test the 61x cdi . For the rev limiter I think it is pretty much the same as the 62t cdi, i'm not running in the cut off, but, I am sure that the timming curve is not the same cuz I notice that I have a lot less power in the low end range. I do not have anymore my quick snap punch that i used to have.. More than that, my superjet is now 3 times more hungry in fuel .. I never had to refuel for a 1 hours run before yesterday ... so I really need to invest in a msd I think...
