2 skis having problems....please help?

Hey guys,

i de-winterized both of my standup skis today and am not too happy when trying to start them.

i have a 1990 550 sx, and a 1994 750sx (completely worked)

the 750 has been flawless, but i tried to start it today and it looks like its just firing on the first second or two, maybe 1 turn over, then it just stays turning over but not even trying to fire.

i looked at the plugs and its doing exactly what it sounds like. it sparks for the first second, then doesnt spark anymore (on either plug)

any ideas?

on the 550, i feel its a bigger issue.
im getting spark.

when i start it, it sounds like its completely missing, and is completely struggling to stay alive.
if i give it gas it just bogs. it barely idles and sounds like something really went.

any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

750 - It could be your start/stop switch check for corrosion at the plug inside the hull. Also pull your stator cover off real quick see if there is any kind of debris. How old are the plugs? But it also could be your stator... So I would check the resistance at the connectors going into the ebox.

were the ski's running perfect before you winterized? how long did they sit? the 550 sounds like the carb could need taken apart and cleaned up.

the 550 was acting up the end of last year. i take them both out about every weekend during summer.
the last 3-4 rides on the 550, it would start to bog down and run a bit off. every once in a while though it would "kick in" and run fine.
the last ride it acted up real bad and this is how is stands now :<

the 750 has been 110% since forever. this is the first issue ive ever had with it.

wow, you guys rock

i checked and there was a corroded terminal and the 750 now runs again strong!!!

the 550 is still having major issues & i think you guys are right on track with the carb.
ill clean the jets maybe next weekend when i get some time.

Thanks all for the help! the 750 appreciates it :D

carb rebuild kits are cheap too. but you could probably get away wih a good cleaning. dont just clean the jets though. completely disassemble them (or it if its a single carb). i had a waveraider that was the same way gave it a good cleaning and it was fine.
