HAHA Yeah I can imagine. There was a big thread on this race over on PWC a year or so ago. The thing about this race is there is no one anywhere out there on the chain, just real small remote villages, shear rock shores and these organizer's are not responsible for you. it is enter at your own risk. NUT'S

yeah yeah, we can all dream right,i live in a small village in ak, the next village is 36 river miles, but i did a 90 mile run last weekend, much fun, not shure if i could do the same on anything but a couch, lol. anyways iv always wondered about a freeride in yakutat, one of alaskas surf breaks, 50 degree waters = frosty balls though i wonder if all pwcs are alowed standup and couches?in the race

There's lots of surfing in Yak and this last winter they had some redbull jetskis there. I remember here in Juneau they (redbull) paid a ton of money to get a local temsco helicopter wrapped in redbull advertising for a video. I would say the water temp is around 40 degrees.

imo there's no way a standup is running that race. I'd be on the biggest couch I could find.

I wish I could do this. I wish I had a new couch and 25k and some time to kill.

Is it rough waters?!?! How long would it even take?

I don't know how to describe the open ocean up here without pictures, so umm, on a calm week the ocean will be pretty nice but

if there's a storm,

The waves in the pictures are about 20 feet tall and pretty common everywhere. It's not a great place to be on the open ocean jetskiing. The second picture shows how hard it would be to see. But if you were hella lucky, it'd be a relatively calm week on the ocean and you could probably scoot pretty well.

As to speed, assuming it's a race i guess you would have to go at about 70 miles per hour on a fast jetski? So 2000/70 is a ilil under 30 hours. you're gonna need a fast boat following you though for gas refills!

I have no plans on racing, i'd rather travel 2000 miles by plane to a place w/ beautiful women and hot beaches :)

I'm not joking here....if someone supplies the 25k and a new Yamaha Waverunner I will win this thing and split 500k with you.
