Tried searching but couldn’t find my specific answer. I believe Kawasaki used the 750 electronics in the 03 SXR. What are the differences between the 750 and 800 electronics? CDI, stator, flywheel?
Thanks for the info. I had a buddy give me a 800 CDI as a backup. Need to know if I can use it in my 03?2003 SXR uses an AC (Alternating Current) Magneto System to charge the CDI.
2004+ SXR's use a DC (Direct Current) Ignition System to charge the CDI. In other words, the electricity supply for the CDI comes directly from the 12 Volt DC Battery.
Zeeltronic only works on the DC Systems...
If it's a cdi with a bunch of wires coming out, it's the same as the 750 ones. If it's an 04 and up, the wire harness plugs into the cdi. No wires dangling out. 04 and up looks similar to the yami 760 cdi. 04 and up stator only charges the battery. Has 2 empty legs where the 750 secondary ignition coils would be wound.
it wont charge the batteryYou can use a 750 stator with 04 and up sxr electrical box you just don't use the red & purple wires
You can use a zxi 750 stator with an 04+ cdi in a pinchAwesome. Thanks
The 04 and up sxr electric does not use the stator to charge the battery. 04 and up uses a dc Cdi to charge the batteryit wont charge the battery

You need the 04 electrical box with cdi. You can use the old stator but the new cdi only requires the blue and green trigger wires be used. The red and purple are the secondary windings on the stator and dont get used. The 3 wire charging plug stays the same. 2 browns and a black I think.
