Does anyone have an electronic version of a shop / owner's manual for the 2004 800 sxr? Looking to get to know my ski real well, and before I take her apart, I want to find out what's inside and what the stock specs are for the ski.

Also, what does everyone recommend for gas octane for a stock ski? 87 / 90 / 92 ? With the price of gas nowadays, this is an important question. Thank you.

I recently heard from the Wamilton's guys that 93 octane mixed 40:1 (instead of 60:1) is best for the stock 800 because it should actually run a little richer than it comes from the factory. 93 octane is also good because stored gasoline drops in octane with every month stored.

I work on skis every day, it's all I do.... I recommend premium all the time.... 2 reasons... 1) if the carbs or the system does become a little clogged and it runs a bit on the lean side, you will notice it running bad before debtonation. 2) Premium burns slower and more even, just better all around for the piston/cyl. I use premium in ANY ski I have. I've never lost an engine running premium... Even my VE970 stroker motor in my xp lasted about 5 years until a "friend" decided to go on a 4 mile full throttle blast... It's cheap insurance.... and I run 40:1 in any ski also... i'ts never been too much.
