Ratti had a bad run, but even more upsetting is how the top 5 ski's were all "obviously" illegal aftermarket hulls. (edit: the british kid did ride a stock boat, so props to him for doing so well against illegal ski's!) Apparently "there were no rules in freestyle". I was told today was just a bad situation all the way around.

Props to ratti for always running AM by the rules, being humble, and being an advocate for promoting the sport throughout.:headbang:

I have been told Ratti got 5th, but unconfirmed........

as far as AM hulls, there was 2 EME's, a Bun and I think a Lightweight.......

I remember reading on the EME site that they were homogolenated (SP!). If so then they are legal for AM-freestyle......

2 EME's, a waterdawg, norcal on an XFT, a Bun that was a 1000cc motor, and others with motors over 800cc...

in the rule book it explains that homogulenated means that the company has sold over 250 ski's of that kind... so EME has sold over 250?

also, IJSBA "forgot" to inform riders that EME was now legal... if ratti had known he would have riden his "pro" ski

either way ratti had a bad day, it happens

Mike was 5 or 6th? They only said placing back to 4th........... So I'm not really sure?

Mike had an off day, But like the great rider he is, held his head high, & acted like a true pro. All & All, he represented well

Major props to Jared, He rode very well!!!

Spence also put in a solid run, Kudos!!

Ivan, won on an EME boat, flawless run & you can tell the training he has been recieving from Malone, He will be one to watch!

Pro Freestyle is shaping up to be quite a compitition........
Lenzi has made a last minute entry...... I for one don't feel he will not have it as easy as he thinks with Malone not competing...... time will tell

Chick took a bunch of pics & I'm sure he will be posting some soon
Not to mention some secret spy pics! :nana:

That sucks for Ratti. That no rule enforcement is what made Lenzi so sour a couple of years ago.

If I recall correctly it was the same situtation last year. Carbon XFT flatwater hulls and bigger cc motor than should be allowed running in AM. :irked:

Big props to Ratti for representing well and competing in a true sportsman like fashion.

just went to the eme site, could not find it, could be wrong on it........ but over the years they have allowed am hulls and have not really said anything. something I learned a few years back constantly competing against someone on an AM Hull, I had to ask myself this question...... "Could I have beat him?", if the answer is no, then it really did not matter.......... oh, I actually did beat that person a few times, one was Nats 2006.. If there were motors over 800 cc (or 900cc if they were going by that for AM) then they need to be protested.

Norcal is not on an XFT hull just, XFT hood/footholds/nosepiece bracket and maybe a pole. Please don't start rumors about Team USA, we got Bronse fair and square. These guys are not here to defend themselfs so Im chiming in. I still want to see the vids of all the compeditors.

You are 100% correct. There were alot of peeps making the assumption that Jared was on an aftermarket hull, but it was apparent that he was just running some XFT accessories.

I had heard that EME was homogolated, but didn't really think about the impact that it could have on AM freestyle. It was really weird to walk around the grandstands and see the lineup of skis on the beach----I was like, WTF---I thought this was Amateur class.

I have looked and looked, cannot find it, but I swore I had read it somewhere.......

regardless, every year the IJSBA decides what rules they are going to follow, there is no continuity what so ever...........
