Never really pay any attention and have always use BR8HS on all my Superjet's. Wonder why Yamaha decided to go a little hotter and non resistor plug, must have resistors in the plug caps?
I believe the stock cdi doesn’t require resistor plugs and my old 08 SJ ran great with B7HS plugs I would gap them tighter .020< even ran 87 octane never any problems. Owners manual says it’s ok so be it.
Stock Superjets have the lowest octane requirements of any modern PWC. You can use the #7 plugs without worry until the compression is raised and/or a pipe is used. Its rare that I foul a #8 so thats what I use.
